Just days after I had visited the magnificent Inca city of Machu Picchu, a natural disaster hit the only railway to the UNESCO site.
Peru is a very colourful nation with a very friendly and diverse population. I stayed overnight with an authentic family on Amantani Island, visited Uros and Taquile islands on Lake Titicaca and witnessed a colourful event in Puno. At the Peruvian Amazon, I counted dozens of parrots at a time, saw playing monkeys in the rainforest while on a nocturnal walk came face to face with creepy insects.
