Faces of Nepal

May 30, 2008 - Just days ago, the former kingdom was announced as The Republic of Nepal. This spiritual land encompassing a unique melting pot of human cultures, blessed with the world's highest peaks and amazing sights and sounds wherever you go.
I came to Nepal to come close with the majestic Himalayas but unfortunately the foggy hills and valleys blocked my expectations. That gives me a good reason to be back another part of the year soon, and one can always take a scenic Mountain Flight to experience the breathtaking views.
Nevertheless, this sacred land has impressed me deeply because of the warm Nepali people who are living the same way in their cozy villages since centuries. Khokana and Bungmati, not far from Kathmandu are good examples of a living museum.
Bhaktapur, Patan and Bouddhanath... all are UNESCO protected areas among the many other World Heritage sites the country has to offer.
